August Events in Cold Lake | What’s Happening This Month

It's hard to believe August is already here! Even though summer is starting to wind down, there's still so much happening around Cold Lake. From family-friendly activities and community events to live entertainment and local markets, August is a great time to get out and enjoy everything our community has to offer.

I always enjoy putting these monthly event guides together because I know how easy it is to miss out on something fun when events are shared in so many different places. To make it easier, I've gathered the August events in Cold Lake all in one spot, along with the details and links, so you can spend less time searching and more time enjoying your last month before all the kiddos go back to school and things get hectic all over again!

I've also included a list of summer camps for kids in Cold Lake happening throughout August. Whether you're looking for sports camps, outdoor adventures, creative programs, or other activities to keep the kids busy before school starts, you'll find those here too.

Aqua Days: August 1st , 2026 (Kinosoo Beach)

August long weekend at Kinosoo Beach. It features a vendor market, a giant foam pit, face painting, the famous Cardboard Boat Races and fireworks at 10:00 am you don’t want to miss it!

Soul Symphony: The Art of Alex Janvier at the Cold Lake Energy Centre: August 1st-10th

The art will feature a custom 360-degree projection dome and a 23-minute film showcasing Janvier’s artwork, stories and cultural contributions. The exhibition will run from Aug. 1st to 10th displayed at the Cold Lake Energy Centre.

Cold Lake City-Wide Sale: August 15 and 16 (You have to register and registration closes on August 13th)

This annual event is a bargain hunter's dream and a great way for Cold Lake residents to find a new home for their old stuff but make sure you register!

Cold Lake Cruisers Show and Shine: August 15 (1:00 pm-4:00 pm)

Car enthusiasts gather at the Cold Lake Energy Centre to display classic and custom vehicles! The event includes family activities, door prizes, a vendor market, and a Cruise Night the evening prior.

Traditional Healing Pow Wow: August 15th (starting at 9:00 am)

Experience the sights, sounds, and spirit of Indigenous culture through traditional dancing, drumming, community gathering, and celebration with free admission at the Cold Lake Energy Centre.

A Tribute to George Strait from Nashville, Tennessee: August 15, 2026 (Doors open at 6:30 pm)

From the Heart of nashville comes the ultimate tribute to the king of country, Pardon production's is proud to be representing this amazing artist at the Bonnyville C2 Centre! Bring a food donation.

Cold Lake Extreme Mudfest: August 20th-23rd

Canada’s Largest Mud & Music Festival this 4-day mud and music festival with nightly performances, we bring you Extreme Bull-Riding, a beer festival, the Extreme Mud-Run for Charity, and of course lots and lots of mud! Our extreme racing classes include Mud-Drags, Mega Trucks, Rock Crawlers, Quads, and more. Come for the weekend, or come for the day; there will be  on-site camping, vending, parking, and a pavilion for those wanting to party long after the concerts end!

EC Summer Camp at the Cold Lake Energy Centre: August 4th-7th (1:00PM-4:00PM)

This four-day camp is packed with fun and hands-on activities for kids! Campers will enjoy a scavenger hunt filled with riddles and hidden clues, jumbo board and card games, outdoor games like kickball and capture the flag, and exciting science experiments that encourage creativity and discovery. ($115/child) Ages 6-12

Splash and Damp Camp at the Cold Lake Energy Centre: August 13th (1:00 PM-4:00 PM)

An afternoon outside on our water obstacle course bouncer and water slide bouncer. Other activities will include water balloon battles, water gun fights and more! ($50/child) Ages 6-12

Hashtag AM and PM Camp at the Cold Lake Energy Centre: August 17th-21st (Ages 6-9 and Ages 10-14)

A fun, high-energy camp where kids can enjoy viral-inspired dance challenges, team games, creative activities, music, and hands-on projects in a safe and positive environment. It's a great way to stay active, make new friends, and enjoy screen-free fun while creating lasting summer memories. Ages 6-9 is in the 9:00AM-12:00PM and Ages 10-14 in the 1:00PM-4:00PM. Registration is required.

Rock Wall Camp at the Cold Lake Energy Centre: August 24th-28th (Ages 7-12) Both AM and PM Classes 

This great camp is to build basic climbing skills and improve general athletic skills. The kiddos will develop the bouldering, high-wall climbing and rappelling skills through a variety of fun drills and challenges. Registration is required.

PSP Summer Camp: at the Mackenzie Arts & Community Centre (MACC) (7;00 AM-5:00 PM)

PSP Summer Camp offers a different themed adventure each week, including Myths & Legends (August 3–7), Mad Science Mayhem (August 10–14), Fantasy Forest (August 17–21), and Space Week (August 24–28). $175/week for Military & DND | $300/week for Non-DND

Come, Let’s Sew: August 10th-14th and August 17th-21st

Sewing Summer Camp is the perfect place for kids to develop their sewing skills, build confidence, and create beautiful projects. Kiddos that are aged 6 and up, whether they are absolute beginners or already have some sewing experience.

Kinsoo Summer Camps: Weekly and Single Day options

Each week is filled with a mix of outdoor adventures, educational activities, sports, crafts, and team games. Kids will enjoy hiking, nature exploration, water play, survival skills, mini Olympics, and exciting activities like the Adventure Park climbing course, target golf, and giant swing. It's a great way for children to stay active, build confidence, and enjoy the outdoors throughout the summer.

Flight Athletics Summer Camps: Half and Full Day Camps

With so many summer camp options to choose from, Flight Athletics offers both full-day and half-day camps with a variety of fun themes, including Swiftie, Minecraft, Disney, and more. Check out their website to explore the different camps and register!
